"Is the Lord's Power Limited?"

In Numbers 11 we see God give ‘an impossible’ promise and see Moses respond with reasons why it is ‘impossible’ in questions.  Any possible way for Him to fulfill that promise could not be SEEN or fathomed.

And the Lord's response to those questions: “Is the Lord’s power limited?”
There's THE QUESTION to answer ALL our questions.

“Is the Lord’s power limited?”  I AM ABLE to DO (I WORK) BEYOND what you could ask, think, or imagine.  So in regard to the desires that I have put on your heart (or will put on your heart) or in regard to what I call you to give of your time, talent, or treasure, I ask you, “Is My power limited?”  Though you cannot even imagine a way possible, I have already made a way.  And it is prepared before you.

Listen to My call. No call of Mine is purposeless, and there is never a WASTED step of obedience! Never, not one little step.  Come, follow Me.  My WAY is never limited.

Oh Lord, we thank you that with the call, comes even the power to believe You and trust You.  We fix our eyes on You and all that You are and confess with You that, ‘No, Your power is not limited, and You can and will enable us to do all that You truly call us to.  Nothing is impossible or too difficult for You.  Lord, we ask for you to build up our faith, even now, to believe YOU in ALL that You ask of us and in all of your promises.  Give each of us the faith to believe in YOU (not in our limitations) and to respond, “Here am I. Send me.”   I say “Yes,” to what You have called me to and confess with You that “No, Your power is NOT EVER limited!”

The Word

You must know the Word of God.  Yes, you, individual believer. I am talking to YOU.

You can no longer just depend on the rest of the body of Christ to know TRUTH and follow them, trusting that you won’t be led astray by ‘persuasive arguments’.

You must know truth for yourself (oh that you would be filled with the REAL knowledge of God!) to not be led astray in these difficult times ahead- to not be shaken from truth amongst all the ‘shaking’.  Away with this nonsense that you need to study the culture or other religions or other thought processes that are out there to understand the times we live in.  NO let My word explain to you the times and explain to you My standards.

My ways are NOT the ways of this world!  Stop looking to the world to define Me and My ways!  Stop looking to the world to define you and your ways!

You will not learn to recognize the counterfeit by studying the counterfeit out there (and you will not find the pure truth searching around in the counterfeit).  You will only know the truth as you immerse yourself in MY whole Word and allow Me to wash you clean- wash your motives, your ideas, your desires, your goals, your intentions- every thought/idea you have that you don’t even know is in your mind- allow My Word to cleanse it as you expose yourself to it, and IT WILL RESULT IN CHANGE.

If I do not want any unwholesome word to proceed OUT of your mouth but only what edifies, what makes you think it is not a big deal to allow all kinds of unwholesome ‘words’ to enter in and think that it is not going to affect you?  It is time to think a little more intentionally about how you are going ‘to guard your mind for action’.

GUARD YOUR MIND FOR ACTION!  What you allow in is going to affect you!  and you are being bombarded!  Gird your mind.

BE IN THE WORD.  It is living and life-giving and healing and infuses with hope and confidence.  You are not going to make it without it.  Take up your sword and fight!

Here am I. Send Me!

Selected verses from Isaiah 6:1-8 :
“…I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.
Seraphim stood above Him,…And one called out to another and said, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts.  The whole earth is full of His glory……
Then I said, ‘Woe is me, for I am ruined!  Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.’
Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs.  He touched my mouth with it and said, ‘Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.’

Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?  Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
                                                             ----------------------

O Lord, let us see You for who You truly are in all of Your glory, sitting on Your sovereign throne in heaven.

Let us see ourselves and our lives in the light of Your holiness and confess our sin, receive Your forgiveness, and unstop our ears to hear the call.

Then will we say like Isaiah,

     “Here I am; send me.”?

Or will we continue to say,

“Who am I? I can’t.”?

Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?

“My eager desire and hope being that I may never feel ashamed,
but that now as ever I may do honor to Christ in my own person by fearless courage.”
 Philippians  1:20 Moffat

Lord, be my personal bravery, and give me Your fearless courage.
Here am I, send me.

Obedience and Holiness

Andrew Murray from various chapters in his book: The School of Obedience

“Always study in God’s Word in the spirit of an unreserved surrender to obey. .... If you accustom yourself to study the Bible without an earnest and very definite purpose to obey, you are getting hardened in disobedience. Never read God’s will concerning you without honestly giving up yourself to do it immediately, and asking grace to do so. God has given us His Word to tell us what He wants us to do and what grace He has provided to enable us to do it. How sad to think it a pious thing just to read that Word without any earnest effort to obey it! May God keep us from this terrible sin!

Let us make it a sacred habit to say to God, ‘Lord, whatever I know to be Your will, I will immediately obey.’ Always read with a heart yielded up in willing obedience.

Without obedience there cannot be the spiritual power to enter into the knowledge of God’s Word and will. Without obedience there cannot be the confidence, the boldness, the liberty that knows that it is heard. Obedience is fellowship with God in His will - without it, there is not the capacity for seeing and claiming and holding the blessings He has for us.

Obedience to God’s will shows itself in tender sensitivity to the voice of conscience. This holds true with regard to eating and drinking, sleeping and resting, spending money and seeking pleasure- let everything be brought into subjection to the will of God.

…..This leads to another thing of great importance in this area. If you desire to live the life of true obedience, see that you maintain a good conscience before God, and never knowingly indulge in anything that is contrary to His mind.”
and from Holy in Christ:Thoughts on the Calling of God’s Children to be Holy as He is Holy by Andrew Murray
“The complaints of many Christians as to lack of joy and strength, as to failure and want of growth, are simply owing to this- the place God gave Holiness in His call they have not given it in their response.”

"And why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?"

Luke 6:46  Allow that question to search you before you read on.

Need to know what He says to do?  Pray and ask Him to speak (and then listen).  And be in His Word

It is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword.  It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness: that you may be adequate, equipped for every good work.  And with the Holy Spirit as your resident teacher, it will change your life.

Oh Lord, thank You that You help us live a life of obedience!  May we walk it out!  May we open our ears to hear You leading and loving us.  And may we determine and 'set our heart' to do what You say.

Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; John 14:26

"....the good hand of his God was upon him.  For Ezra" (and put your name there too) "had set his heart 1) to study the law of the Lord and 2)  to practice it,"  (do what He says) "and  3) to teach His statutes and ordinances..."  Ezra 7:10

"I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me."  Psalm 119:102
