"And why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?"

Luke 6:46  Allow that question to search you before you read on.

Need to know what He says to do?  Pray and ask Him to speak (and then listen).  And be in His Word

It is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword.  It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness: that you may be adequate, equipped for every good work.  And with the Holy Spirit as your resident teacher, it will change your life.

Oh Lord, thank You that You help us live a life of obedience!  May we walk it out!  May we open our ears to hear You leading and loving us.  And may we determine and 'set our heart' to do what You say.

Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; John 14:26

"....the good hand of his God was upon him.  For Ezra" (and put your name there too) "had set his heart 1) to study the law of the Lord and 2)  to practice it,"  (do what He says) "and  3) to teach His statutes and ordinances..."  Ezra 7:10

"I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me."  Psalm 119:102

This verse/question was originally at the bottom of the entry 'Shine' in my journal. I'm not sure how it got left off, but once I noticed that, I knew that it was waiting to be a stand-alone question. It's a question that can bring deep conviction or a fresh encouraging reminder of obedience. May His Word do its work in our lives. Allow it!
